CLASS EXPECTATIONS

Tardy Policy

If you are tardy to first core students will be required to get a tardy pass from the front office. If students are late to class they will need a written pass from their previous teacher.  It is their responsibility to ask their teacher for a pass.  The first two unexcused tardies in a quarter will result in silent lunch. Chronic tardiness may result in a discipline referral to the Assistant Principal.

Notebooks

Each student should have a composition notebook. The first section of the notebook will be for notes throughout the year. The other section will be for warm ups.

Make-Up Work

The STUDENT is responsible for making up work that was missed in class due to an absence.  Missing assignments can be found in the folder at the front of the class or on this website.

Extra Credit

Opportunities for extra credit will be given out randomly during each grading period.  No other extra credit will be given in addition to those opportunities. Extra credit will only be allowed if all other assignments are completed.

Wendell Middle School's Late Work Policy

The following are the deductions to be used for late assignments handed in within 5 school days of the original due date.

  • 1 day late 10% penalty

  • 2 days late 20% penalty

  • 3-5 days late 40% penalty

A student may still earn a zero if they fail to hand in the assignment within the 5 day window.

The original grade should be on the assignment before deduction so the student knows their level of mastery.

Working Lunch may be assigned to provide incentive for students to complete a missing assignment. Working Lunch may be assigned until the assignment is complete. If an assignment has been corrected in class; an alternate, similar assignment may be given.
